Popular driver departs after 17 years

Ray Smith has safely driven more than 300,000 passengers to and from school over the course of his 17-year career as a bus driver with Popes Timboon.

The popular school bus driver is taking a step back from his daily driving to enjoy some well-earned travel and time with his family.

Port Campbell extension knocked back

Popes Timboon and the Corangamite Shire have vowed to keep fighting for a public transport extension to Port Campbell after the State Government rejected the proposal.

Public Transport Victoria has informed Popes Timboon that the proposed Port Campbell extension of its existing contract between Camperdown and Timboon was “not a priority”. Continue reading

A charter trip no tech-head should miss

Free bus travel to Farmer Power rally

Popes Timboon is pleased to be able to play a role in helping south west dairy farmers attend an important Farmer Power rally at Parliament House this coming Wednesday.

Strong support for Port Campbell bus extension

The proposed extension of the public bus service between Camperdown and Timboon, to include Port Campbell, has received overwhelming support in a community survey.

More than 95 per cent of 70 respondents have supported the plan. Popes Timboon, which operates the service for Public Transport Victoria (PTV), flagged the extension last year. Continue reading

United push for public transport extension

Community groups throughout Corangamite Shire have rallied behind plans to extend the public transport service between Camperdown and Timboon through to Port Campbell.

Popes Timboon, which is contracted to operate the service for Public Transport Victoria, flagged the proposed extension last month. It said the plan was realistic and that if there was strong community support, it could happen. Continue reading
